SUMMER LEAGUE 2006

  April 24th, 2006

The Oakland/Alameda Futsal League is currently making preparations for the commencement of its first summer session. Now in our seventh season we are pleased to report that during the first six seasons, over 5000 local youths participated.  Futsal is the official indoor sport of FIFA (Soccer’s governing body).  Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced game that will help to improve a player’s passing, shooting, dribbling, defending, and overall team skills. The Oakland/Alameda Futsal League starts on June 13th and runs through August.  We will not play during the week of July 3rd.The games will be held at the former Alameda Naval Station Gymnasium.  The games will be played on Tuesday or Wednesday with the first game starting at 4:00PM and the last one at 8:00PM.  The program is offered for U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-19 (boys and girls) teams and Adult men’s teams as well as Coed recreational teams.  There are two youth divisions: Competitive and Recreational.  The cost will be $75/player or $600/team of 8 players with up to 10 players per team.  The cost includes league registration fees, medical insurance, on-line registration, and affiliation with California Futsal Association and U.S. Futsal.

As the league is affiliated with the California Futsal Association, State and League personnel will conduct a coaching and referee clinic for all participating teams.  Each team is strongly encouraged to provide one referee. This will help to ensure that all games will have competent referee coverage.

For those Adult Teams interested in joining the Oakland/Alameda Futsal League, please call (510) 409-6486 or email questions to kicknitupp@alamedanet.net and for those Youth Teams interested in joining the Oakland/Alameda Futsal League, please call (510) 836-8733 or email questions to alex@futsal.org.  Deadline for the SUMMER season that will start on June 13th is May 31st. Please register your team on line!  First register as a COACH (required to create a team) by going to:
